About

Built by someone who has
stood in the room.

SynaptoFlow was not built from a market research report. It came from hundreds of hours of ward rotations, OPD sessions, and time spent observing surgeries on two continents, watching the same problem come up every single time.

Ayub Medical College

I was born in Canada, grew up in Oxford, Mississippi from the age of two, and went through the American school system before starting a BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences. In 2021 I came to Ayub Medical College in Abbottabad, Pakistan to complete my medical degree. That background makes me a US-IMG, which turns out to give you a view of healthcare that most people on either side of the world simply do not have.

My goal has always been pediatric cardiothoracic surgery, so I paid close attention to surgical workflows throughout medical school. Hundreds of hours of ward rotations, OPD sessions, inpatient and outpatient care, time in operating rooms as an observer. What I kept seeing was the same gap in Abbottabad and in the United States: patients arriving on surgery day unprepared, and no one catching it until it was too late.

Between the pre-operative appointment and surgery day, the patient is completely on their own. No one is checking whether they stopped their blood thinners. No one is confirming the labs were drawn. The surgeon finds out about the missed BP medication or the un-drawn hemoglobin at 6 AM, and at that point there is nothing to do but cancel.

I built SynaptoFlow because I genuinely believe that the most meaningful improvements in surgical outcomes are going to come from better systems around the patient in the days before they get to the table, not from better scalpels. This is the problem I watched repeatedly, and this is my attempt to fix it.

The Observation
"The same gap exists in a tertiary care hospital in Abbottabad and a surgical center in Mississippi. The patient leaves the pre-op appointment and disappears. Nobody tracks what they actually do in the days that follow."

This is not a technology problem. It is a communication and accountability problem. SynaptoFlow addresses it with the simplest possible intervention: a structured real-time checklist the patient can access from any smartphone, and a dashboard that lets the surgeon see days before surgery who is compliant and who is not.

Why This Matters to Me Personally
馃彞

Two healthcare systems, one problem

Having trained in both Pakistan and the United States, I have seen this gap in high-resource and resource-constrained settings. It is not about funding. It is about the handoff between the clinic and the patient, and that handoff is broken in both places.

A physician who has been in the room

I have been present when cases were cancelled. I have watched the frustration on both sides: the surgeon who had prepared for weeks and the patient who genuinely did not know what was required of them. SynaptoFlow closes that information gap.

The long game

My goal is pediatric cardiothoracic surgery. Every cancelled case in that specialty carries enormous stakes. SynaptoFlow is the first product in a broader vision of technology that actively improves surgical safety rather than just documenting it after the fact.

Let's talk about your practice.

I built SynaptoFlow to solve a problem I watched happen repeatedly. If you are a surgeon who has dealt with last-minute cancellations, I would genuinely like to hear your perspective and show you what this looks like for your patients.
